In all likelikhood if you have taken CPR courses in the past, you were provided a pocket resuscitation mask with a one-way valve to use when practicing CPR skills on a mannequin.  These were sterilized between users according to very specific OH&S procedures.  Effective immediately, we are now required to ensure that every student taking a course involving a CPR component has a new mask and one-way valve.  We can either offer one for purchase or the student can chose to bring their own, provided it has only been used by them.  This is a very strategic measure targeted to reduce the risk of infection transmission and will continue to be enforced, even after Covid-19 restrictions are loosened.

If you are signing up for a course, you will now see the opportunity to purchase a mask from us or you are welcome to bring your own.  One-way valves will be provided to you as a matter of course and will be required to go home with you at the end of the course.  When you arrive at the CPR or first aid course, we will provide you with the mask if you have ordered one.  If you are bringing your own, please ensure no one else has used it and make a note when you are paying online for your CPR or First Aid Course.  This requirement is not in place for the Psychological First Aid Course.

We understand this is an added extra expense to the student but we do believe it is an important step to protect everyone.  If you have any questions regarding protocols and requirements, please do not hesitate to email us at

Thank you for your understanding while we are working very hard to keep everyone safe.
